Gemini is the lead single from Claire Heffernan's upcoming EP, Young Heart. Following the success of her debut single Snow Moon earlier this year, which reached No.1 the iTunes singer/songwriter charts, this new single is a breakup song that captures the power of choosing to set oneself free and live life on one’s own terms. Gemini was premiered by Hot Press magazine, who called it "another stunning offering", describing Claire as having "a true flair for song-creation." This song also went to No.1 in the iTunes singer/songwriter charts, and became one of Hot Press's "favourite Irish songs of the week".

Gemini is largely an acoustic track, with all vocals, Irish harp and piano performed by the artist. Speaking on the writing process, Claire says, “I wrote this song during a breakup. It was a way to process all my emotion. I feel like this sort of angst came out again in the studio with the way we arranged the track. It’s full of dramatic drops, dynamics, but also tenderness.” The first lockdown in 2020 halted the single's production mid-recording. “Time away from the studio was at first really disappointing. But, in the end, it allowed me space to reimagine the song, and the entire EP. I could design more ambitious musical arrangements while I was waiting to return.”
